As it is commonly known, World of Warcraft allows users to create a number of different types of characters with different abilities; one of these characters is the Mages who are capable of performing magic in different forms and through different techniques.

It is important to work towards levelling up your own character initially. A good option towards this is to look for a group which you can join in order to boost your levels pronto.

As you gain stat points, you are allowed to put those points to build your character. For mages, it is advisable to utilize these points in boosting intelligence which results in higher mana levels and critical hit chances along with some attention towards stamina and agility.

Many people make the mistake of trying to build a character adept at both fire and ice techniques. This will make your character take longer time to become powerful. However focusing on one of these attributes along with concentration on improving the arcane skills makes a mage powerful rapidly.

As a mage, it is important to work on ranged attacks early on in a battle. After you have weakened your opponent a little with your ranged attacks such as fire blasts etc. you might want to try to higher spells such as polymorph and other advanced tactics.

Strategy is important when using a mage. When dealing with a number of opponents together, it is advisable to focus on spells which affect enemies over a wide area such as blizzard and others. Although the initial fireballs etc. might buy you some time, the area affect spells are useful in destroying the weaker opponents out of the pack and weakening the stronger ones.

Try to bag many victories in the arena in order to get the Gladiator's armour which is the best armour available for a mage.
